The city of Ramallah is featured here in sponge pen style. Throughout history, Ramallah has offered a welcoming and warm home to strangers traveling between places. Its forests offered shade and the orchards brought food and drink. The houses in Ramallah, originally made of stone and mud, developed into elegant homes for people to gather and celebrate.

Ramallah, featured here, is shown with a paragraph from the poem "In Ramallah" by Mahmoud Darwish. In the poem, he describes the future possibility of having an "absence." Some suggest that this line is particularly beautiful and meaningful because when he was buried in 2008, he was placed on a hill overlooking Jerusalem.
